Merkel Hydraulic Symmetrical Seals

The 8001 features a symetric profile. This U-Cup has single-acting piston or rod seals and is mainly used as a replacement part requirement.

Precisely processed to +/-0.001″, this guide band is precisely processed from a specially formulated reinforced nylon. It’s high compressive strength and load bearing capabilities meet or exceed that of most metals used for this purpose.

• Ultra Precision, turned to +/-0.001″
• Extremely low wear
• Eliminates galling and scoring of cylinder bores and rods
• Ingests harmful metal flakes, burs, and small chips, thus will not generate contamination as is common with metallic rings
• Compatible with common hydraulic oils, water emulsions, water glycol, and phosphate ester fluids
• High strength and stiffness provides special advantages in port-passing applications

The G10/G11 design is an older design and should be replaced with a new design where possible. These Automatic U-Rings provide a space saving design with long slender lips. Their symmetrical design allows them to be utilized on both a piston or rod application. The teardrop energizer offer no pre-load to ensure that there are no pressure traps when used in tandem with other seals.
